Anything Else: DORM CREW!! who else is doing it? other than that, hmm ... my brain's gone on vacation since graduation, but feel free to IM me and I'd love to talk and get to know some of my fellow future Harvardians (or whatever we're called ... lol) before school starts.

I've grown up in the Boston area but love the city and can't wait to move to Cambridge in the fall ... though I must say, I still can't believe I actually decided to stay this close to home. Whatever though, not having to pay for la laundromat should be a plus. I'm currently debating rowing lightweight in the fall - anybody else here do crew? I also want to get involved in music stuff - orchestra (want to audition for HRO), maybe chamber music, and whatever else pops up in the fall. And yes I'm one of those enthusiastic but indecisive people who's probably going to waaaay overload my plate in the fall, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it... :)

Oh and you'll have to excuse the lack of a user pic for now - I just started my LJ last night so I'm still setting things up ...

I'm doing dorm crew (and I'm actually tempted to do it during the school year too... seems like a great job)
I'm also reading naked by david sedaris right now... fantastic
Felipe's!! I heart your icon and I would kill for one of those t-shirts.
Another violist??? Wow. What an awesome year for violas!
I hope to see you at HRO (I'll be auditioning for horn).
Oooh, I really like The Chosen too. Have you read My Name is Asher Lev? I think that's my favorite of Potok's.
I've only read The Chosen and The Promise, but I like Potok's writing - I'll have to hunt that down and put it on my interminable list of books to read this summer :)
Hahahaha you've been on my buddy list for months now and I forgot who you were and I didn't want to IM you just to say "Hi, who are you and what are you doing on my buddylist?"

It's always nice to meet a fellow classical musician. [Insert venomous comment about violists here.] I was surprised to find i've actually seen all the movies on your list but one (Bend it like Beckham)

...You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
hey! lol, I've done that with sn's on my buddylist too .. nice to meet you :).

[insert venomous cello joke here] rats, there aren't as many good cello jokes as there are viola jokes =/. As long as you're not a violinist, it's cool though ;-).

there's another movie I forgot to add to my list but now I'm blanking on it again ... aaggghhh where has my brain gone? I'll re-post when I think of it ...
there's always:

How are a cellist's fingers like lightning?
They never strike twice in the same place ... or so the viola version of the joke goes ;).
oh and I thought of the movie I left off my list - Finding Neverland. seen it?
Neurobiology!!! Is that a set concentration (because if it is, I'll totally have to consider it), or are you going for the Mind, Brain, and Behavior Program's concentration in cognitive neuroscience?
There's a great book you should read as a general intro to neuroscience (it's interesting, informative, AND written by a prof at Harvard Med School): A User's Guide to the Brain by John Ratey, M.D.
I'm Kelley, by the way. *extends virtual hand.*
I was thinking of the MBB program - the track that goes through the bio concentration is Neurobiology, if I remember right. I'm hoping to look more into the program in the fall. Thanks for the book recommendation - I'll look it up.

Nice to meet you :) *extends virtual hand back*
Altoclefclutz is right. MBB in Biology is Neurobiology. I heard it's a fun major though because it combines psychology, biology and everything, literally... I can't do a hard-core science major but I do want the science so I think Neurobio is the best major (I mean, concentration haha) for me.

Wow, you're tall. You're my height!
